12 Hours Cooling Period: KAF Digital Bank Mobile Application Protocol

KAF Digital Bank (KAF DB) prioritises the security of your financial information. In cases of device loss, replacement, or upgrades, a mandatory waiting period of 12 hours will be implemented before accessing the KAF DB app on the new device. This precautionary measure aims to safeguard your financial security, particularly in scenarios involving lost devices.

Device Verification and IMEI Registration

Upon registering a device for account opening, KAF DB securely stores the International Mobile Equipment Identity (IMEI) in our cloud storage. When attempting to log in with an unfamiliar device, an alert reading 'This Device Seems Unfamiliar' will prompt the user.

Device Identification Process

If the IMEI of the new device doesn't match the stored IMEI, the application will inquire, 'Do you want to register this new device?' Opting for yes, you will further be asked with 'Did you lose your old mobile device?'. Opting for 'Yes, I Lost My Device' triggers a self-identity verification or e-KYC process, including identification document verifications, facial recognition, and liveness checks.

Verification and Cooling Period

Upon successful verification, a 12-hour Cooling Period is initiated. During this time, users cannot log in to the application, ensuring additional layers of security. Although this period may be inconvenient, it is crucial to protect your financial assets in case of unauthorised device changes.

Initiating Device Change and Notifications

Any initiated change in your registered device will be notified via email. This gives you ample time to contact the bank and verify the legitimacy of the action. The 12-hour Cooling Period begins upon receiving the first email, with a subsequent email confirming the approval of the new device registration.

Unauthorised Access and Hotline Support:

In the event of unauthorised device registration, you can contact KAF DB's 24/7 Hotline for assistance. The Help Centre will verify the details, and if our team found your report complete and correct, Customer Service will suspend the account, preventing unauthorised access and potential security threats.

KAF Digital Bank's robust device registration protocol underscores our commitment to ensuring the utmost security for your financial information. While the 12-hour Cooling Period may seem inconvenient, it is a crucial step in safeguarding your account against potential threats. Rest assured, our protocols are designed with your financial security in mind, providing you with peace of mind and confidence in your digital banking experience.
