Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) or Multiple Security Checks

In the ever-evolving digital landscape, security is of paramount importance. KAF Digital Bank (KAF DB) understands the significance of safeguarding user accounts and sensitive information, and one of the key tools employed for this purpose is Multifactor Authentication (MFA) or multiple security checks. This article delves into the concept of MFA and sheds light on how it operates within the secure framework of KAF Digital Bank.

Understanding Multi Factor Authentication

Multi Factor Authentication, commonly known as two-factor authentication or dual-factor authentication, is a robust security measure crafted to strengthen access control. The primary objective is to elevate security by requiring users to provide two or more distinct forms of identification before gaining access to their accounts, systems, or applications.

The Three Common Factors in MFA

  • Something You Know:

Users are required to input a password or PIN that they have memorised.

  • Something You Have:

This involves a tangible item or token the user possesses, such as a smartphone, security key, or smart card.

  • Something You Are:

Utilising biometric data, such as fingerprints, retina scans, or facial recognition, uniquely identifies individuals based on their physical characteristics.

The MFA Process at KAF Digital Bank

KAF Digital Bank has implemented a robust MFA process to ensure the utmost security for all of you. In the event of a transaction with an amount of RM10,000 and above, you will experience the real MFA through our app. This MFA will apply on all transactions that hit RM10,000 and above, including transactions between KAF DB accounts, DuitNow Transfer, DuitNow ID Transfer or DuitNow QR.

The scenario is simple, like this; after you enter the amount you want to transfer and intend to continue, the SecureKAF decision page will pop-up. You must authorise the transaction made by tapping on the "Accept" button. Then you will be asked to take a selfie of your face.

Multifactor Authentication stands as a stalwart guardian of security in the digital age, and KAF Digital Bank is committed to providing its users with a fortified defence against unauthorised access. By combining multiple layers of authentication, KAF Digital Bank ensures a resilient security posture, making it a trusted partner in the financial landscape.
