Reset PIN / Password / Passkey
Resetting your PIN can be necessary in various scenarios to ensure the security of your KAF Digital Bank (KAF DB) account. Here's a breakdown of different scenarios and the steps to reset your PIN accordingly.
PIN Reset Scenarios
Scenario 1: Reset PIN during MFA Action (during entering 6-digit PIN)
- Initiating Account Recovery:
Tap on "Forgot PIN" in the page requiring the Secure PIN.
- Email Notification:
Email will be sent notifying the initiation of the account recovery process.
- E-KYC Process:
Redo e-KYC (online identity verification), including identification document (ID) verification, facial recognition (face scan verification), and liveness check, as during the initial onboarding.
- Resetting PIN:
On the Reset PIN page, create a new 6-digit PIN.
- Confirmation:
Re-enter the PIN for confirmation.
- Acknowledgment Screen:
The Acknowledgement screen indicates success or failure. Push notification and email confirm the success.
- Failure Scenario:
If the acknowledgment page shows failure, your verification went wrong, and PIN creation is not allowed. You need to retry later.
- Completion:
Tap "Done" to navigate to the Dashboard.
Scenario 2: Forgot PIN with Passed Biometric
- Login with Biometric:
Launch the app, log in using biometric, and go to the Dashboard.
- Accessing Settings:
Tap the three-line Menu icon, select “Settings”, and choose "Change PIN".
- Initiating PIN Reset:
Tap "Forgot PIN" to start the process.
- E-KYC Process:
Redo the e-KYC (online identity verification) process (self-identity verification), including identification documents (ID) verification, facial recognition (face scan verification), and liveness check, similar to the initial onboarding.
- Creating New PIN:
On the Reset PIN page, generate a new 6-digit PIN.
- Confirming PIN:
Re-enter the new PIN for confirmation.
- Acknowledging Outcome:
View the Acknowledgment Screen for success or failure.
- Return to Pre-Login:
Tap "Done" to be redirected to the Pre-Login page.
Scenario 3: Forgot PIN with Failed Biometric
- Login Attempt with Biometric:
Launch the app and attempt login using Biometric.
- Biometric Failure:
If Biometric fails, try logging in using your Secure PIN.
- Forgot PIN:
On the PIN page, tap "Forgot PIN".
- Account Recovery Process:
Redo e-KYC (online identity verification), including identification document (ID) verification, facial recognition (face scan verification), and liveness check.
- Resetting PIN:
On the Reset PIN page, create a new 6-digit PIN.
- Confirmation:
Re-enter the PIN for confirmation.
